Hee. This one was a big surprise. Tbh I'm not even sure they were all that friendly (one moment of shared drink/confession aside) but I totally got it as a moment where you're somewhere kind of foreign and you suddenly feel an old familiar face from the past and you immediately feel better. When I went to college in a fairly distant state, two classmates that I knew fairly well but weren't particularly close with also attended the same school and it was always a much warmer greeting whenever I saw them than it would've been at home, you know? This reminded me of that. Heh.
