definitely in the last season they were all letting their hair get crazy, which I assume the writers/producers liked as a sign of how FUBAR everything else was getting too.

True, but even for a girl with crazy hair, she has good crazy hair, lol. I guess they let it get that way because Katee simply refused to cut her hair again? (which makes sense, if it was the last season and she had to start looking for new jobs, somehow women with long blonde hair have an easier time booking gigs).
