Today, I was wondering how Kara's speech at Cain's funeral might have gone if she'd been the one to pull the trigger? (I have conflicted thoughts about this, so I'll toss it out as a general question.)

I have a feeling that if Kara pulled the trigger, it would have been her funeral as well.

Humor me here, if you would. Let's assume that Adama wasn't so stupid as to have Kara kill Cain in the CIC, but that she'd do it, Gina-fashion, without detection and had then slip away. Would she have given the same speech?

Interesting thought. I have a feeling that Kara would probably try to avoid the funeral or at least wouldn't volunteer to give a speech. I might be wrong, though. We know that in the end it wasn't Kara's action that stopped her pulling the trigger, so she must have felt at least some guilt of her own when she was giving the speech at Cain's funeral.

Maybe, if she killed the admiral, she would still say the same things about her but would add a few bits about our own choices and responsibilities. I think she would try harder to make Adama and Roslin feel guilty for what they put her through.

I don't think Kara could've avoided being at the funeral and not raise suspicions of her role in Cain's death. I'd think that she'd try to avoid saying anything, but if forced, I agree with Sugarhaven that she'd have some things to say aimed indirectly Adama and Roslin.

...or she might have been severely injured but not killed after killing Cain in CIC. Then she wouldn't have had to attend the funeral.

OT but poor Kara doesn't seem to see anything good in that mirror, first she has to deal with her own fear pre-assassination and then in Someone To Watch Over Me she's hallucinating her dead skeleton face into the glass.
