Every Song is About Her

So, what songs remind you of Kara? For me (and quite a few others), Pink is kind of the quintessential Kara-as-a-rockstar alternative, of course, so nearly all her songs seem to apply in one way or another.  (Marian Call also wrote the song Good Old Girl about Kara.) What type of songs or genre of music do you associate with Kara?  Hip-hop? Pop? Rap? R&B? Instrumental? Thrash Metal? I've vidded her to a country song once--wait, no twice--because she's a bit of a cowboy. Do you have different answers depending on whether you're thinking of her Kara side or her Starbuck side?

Confession time:
1. I love Kara. I really really do.

2. I don't like Pink. I know that she's all about girl power ala Punk!SpiceGirls, blah blah blah, but I just don't like her. Therefore, I don't associate her w/ Kara. Ever. Unfortunately, most of the fans I know will associate Kara w/ Pink. Which is fine. Just not me. But I won't judge.

3. I hate myself for this, but I associate Kara/Starbuck w/ Fergie. WTF??????? I don't understand it. I really really don't. Because it makes NO sense. NONE. So....yeah. There it is. Zero sense.

4. I tend to associate Kara w/ really strong, very complicated instrumental music. Sometimes lyrics just don't cut it. And no one gets this better than Bear McCreary. Seriously. For Starbuck - "Starbuck takes on all eight". Yup.
But Kara is just so complicated....it's hard for me to come out and say.
*sigh* I'm gonna go with Yoko Kanno. This is just one of the songs that I associate w/ BSG in general, but Kara specifically.

4. I also believe that this song speaks to me of Kara's secret side, the hesitation, the vulnerability, the softness that's hidden behind layers that's she's built up. I like it because it sounds like something that a child could play, but the melancholy is all grown up.

5. This post is so hard!!!! I have so much to say and I can't seem to put it words!!!!! I know there's rock songs, etc that I associate w/ her, but I can't seem to think of any!!!! (I'm too lazy to grab my mp3 player where i have a playlist...)

Love the prompt, Tara!
cheers.

Clumsy! God help me, but I love that song. And I love the Peas in general. Not usually related to a character, but more of a bounce around and have fun type music.

There's a lot of great comedic songs out there.

hee.

Also, I think "Fidelity" by Regina Spektor is one of my favs for Kara (not starbuck, though).

cheers.

dood, you're so right.
plus, there's songs that you just don't want to vid....like "smells like funk". I mean, i love that song but...how would you vid that? WHAT IMAGES GO WITH THAT???? O.o
The song that always makes me giggle is "My humps"....but for reasons I will not discuss here. Let's just say that it involves my college art class, when I chose to spend my time w/ a flamming gay guy and a nimphomaniac/slut (self proclaimed). Hee. Probably not BSG appropriate. ;P
