"Let's just be friendlies."

So I know we've talked about crossovers in general before, but last night I was watching Sons of Anarchy and thought "Damn, but Gemma Teller and Kara Thrace could have an awesome chat over some beers."  I tweeted the thought to a friend who suggested they could have a one-upping contest:

Gemma: "I clocked a bitch in the face with a skateboard."
Kara: "I pushed a bitch off a cliff and killed her. Did I mention she was a machine?" .

This is pretty much a recurring theme with me. A week or two ago I was very keen on Johanna Mason (from The Hunger Games series) and Kara facing off in Katniss and Peeta's games (obviously timeline would have to be tweaked a bit) and having an Inigo-Wesley kind of showdown with axes and knives, where they grudgingly come to respect each other's fine sarcasm skills and talent with weilding deadly sharp objects. (i.e. "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you."/"You seem a decent fellow, I hate to die.")

Usually crossovers tend to have Kara interacting with a man (Captain Mal Reynolds, Kirk from Star Trek, etc.) but I think I just want to give her female friends, honestly. What awesome women would you like to see Kara interact with? What would they do together?

One of my favorite sci-fantasy books of all time is The Deed of Paksenarrion. I have ALWAYS seen Pax as a somewhat more stable version of Kara Thrace. She's tough and smart and hardened. She kicks ass, never wants to marry, wants to be a warrior, and defies convention by doing it. She has a best (male) friend who is probably in love with her, but they never quite make it work. (NOT a love story.) And she has this amazing destiny! (But in this case, she is in control of it.) Oh goodness... I could go on forever.

So yeah. Kara and Pax kick ass on orcs, trolls and cylons. I could totally see it.
