I came across this Hemingway quote from "A Farewell to Arms" earlier this week, and it really reminded me of Kara:
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.
Kara's brokenness (and subsequent strength) is one of the things I totally fangirl over. Imperfect heroes, especially ones that can be a little bit hard to love? Yeah. It's kind of a kink of mine.
But if we're objectifying, I'm throwing in my hat for that entire, oh-so-expressive face. The nuance of emotion (how does she make her face say 2 things at once?!) just gets me every time.
