Lol. Tor.com has a fun article today about how Downton Abbey is essentially the same show as BSG. There are comparisons for Kara (as well as other cast members) and her romantic relationships. Do those of you who watch agree or disagree? :)

Also, a new exclusive clip from Star Wars: Clone Wars features Katee as Bo-Katan over here at SFX, and apparently there's an interview with her in issue 222 of SFX on sale from this Wednesday in the UK. Plus, if anyone hasn't seen it yet, there's a new extended trailer for Longmire released that has a few glimpses of Katee, brawling and smirking.

Spoiler TV says the premiere date is June 3. You can see the trailer at the new Longmire comm, [livejournal.com profile] longmiretv! (I'm not embedding it here because there's no Katee in the trailer and I fear I'm already spamming everyone to high heaven with this!)

A quick roundup for some Katee news:
  • Katee and Tricia will live chat online again this Saturday at 10 AM PST/1 PM EST at justin.tv/actingoutlaws. Their chats are always so fun and funny. Don't miss it!

  • Katee did a great new interview with After Ellen, very candid and funny as she does, about her appeal to both men and women, her dream role, and Longmire. Check it out here.

  • New promo photos of Longmire are out! Here's Katee's:  Also, though I frequently post about Katee's other ventures here, since it's really a Kara comm and we're getting a lot of news now, I decided to start a separate Longmire comm for all the news related to that show: [livejournal.com profile] longmiretv(there are other promo photos there including one of Katee "on set".)

  • Katee also tweeted that she'll be leaving LA soon to go shoot Riddick in Montreal and then she'll be going right on to shoot Longmire after that.

  • Dave Filoni, the producer of the Star Wars Clone Wars tv show, posted a note on facebook with artwork of Katee's character minus her helmet (you can slightly see her face in profile last week. He said she'll be back next season and they're waiting to reveal her face then. Yay for more work for Katee.

From US Magazine article with Sugarland's Kristian Bush:

US: Who are some of your more interesting celebrity fans that have come to your shows?

KB: I flipped out last night because Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica tweeted, 'I can't wait to go to the Sugarland show.' I wrote back asking her if she needed a parking space for her space ship! When we spoke she said 'I jumped off the couch I was so excited.' People don't like to admit that they are country fans because traditionally people will say, 'I love all kinds of music, except country music.' Once a celebrity has disclosed that they are a country music fan and they show up to a concert, they are really coming out of the closet! We are the gateway drug in country music.

Last night, Katee tweeted some pictures of a bowling night with her Longmire castmates. Hope this means pickup news is imminent:

Not quite Kara-related but he does mention Starbuck! Craig Allen Johnson, the author of the Longmire novels which are the basis for Katee's new pilot that she's shooting, weighs in on the casting for the show here at Crimespree Magazine's blog (er and check out how hot Bailey Chase is in that cowboy hat. Damn.). But I've copied and pasted the brief and complimentary bit he had to say about Katee. (I certainly agree, Vic sounds just like Katee and Kara in her more playful moments).

Katee Sackhoff (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, 24) is Vic Moretti. My webmaster says we just got the geek-boy demographic with this one--I think we got the rancher one as well. I went back through a few of her performances as Starbuck and more importantly her interviews online and about died laughing—she’s got quite a mouth on her and a Vic attitude. She IS Vic. The executive crew had a hard time with this one; trying to find a young woman who was sexy but still looked like she could put you in a reverse-wristlock and plant your face on the hood of your car. I truly think they did it.

In other interviews, Johnson had said that the question he got asked most when people heard about the TV show was not who would play Walt but who would play Vic. Apparently a lot of the Wyoming farmers had strong opinions on who should play the sexy-but-tough deputy. Obviously, they made a great pick. ;)
