It's merely a blip on the radar in S3, but I always imagined that Kara's burnt hands had to be a huge deal for her. The consequences of it (grounding at least, for how long?) are all off-screen and glosed over by the time we get back to 3.13 but it could have been an interesting set up to Maelstrom to connect the burnt hands with the broken fingers/helplessness of her childhood as the image of the mandala came back into her life...
