And the orange clouds raining in my head - I don't know the reference?
So many people hate Maelstrom with a passion, but it's always been one of my favorites. Excepting the 'boom' which then led to the 'poof'. So much Kara exploration in this episode. So perfectly angsty and pilots' being friends and supportive again.
I'm going to go off and have a 'sniffle' moment now...
I think it's a quote from the Tori Amos song "Silent All These Years"--"Years go by/ If I'm stripped of my beauty/ And the orange clouds raining in my head/ Years go by/ Will I choke on my tears/ Till finally there is nothing left?"
I really like the scene with Kara and Lee sitting under the viper, where their friendship really shines through. Aww pilots.
I figured it must be from a song or story. Thanks for the info.
And yes, it was a small gift the writers gave us before crushing our shippy hearts to itty bitty pieces. And what's really sad is that Lee's choice could have been the right one if the writers had let it.
Yup that's the reference. Originally was going to call the post by the song title, but then that particular line with its reference to orange clouds and raining...just seemed so fitting.
Yes, was from the Tori Amos song which was stuck in my head this morning for unrelated reasons.
I hate it more now, knowing what it led to, and....because none of their storytelling decisions really hold up in retrospect (everything is just done for effect pretty much), but Katee was brilliant in it.
There are times where I want to make a Fans Choice awards where people are nominated and those that are going to vote have to watch the performances before voting. Aw, heck. Don't know if that would work either, since there are rabid fans of so many actors out there, but I just can't understand how Katee's performances (and BSG in general) could be overlooked so thoroughly. Why are the Emmy's so blind to off-network shows?
Sorry, rant over. Just riled because first BtvSlayer and then BSG so snubbed.
Well there is the People's Choice Awards--but you still have to be on a mainstream network usually to have a shot at winning those. Syfy just wasn't big enough and emmy voters are so traditional/staid. Sci-fi shows just are seldom taken seriously.
