When the Pegasus finds Galactica, everyone's initial reaction is pleasure and a bit of relief. Kara seems excited to get new folks to interact with. ;) But the novelty wore off pretty quick...

I really liked the way they drew a line here. Kara has a lot of swagger and pride in her job but, in canon, we really don't see her bragging a lot. She postures a bit with the nuggets, telling them to refer to her as God and swatting Kat down in Scar, but that seems more about asserting her authority and less about arrogance and boastfulness. I really liked that she found something distasteful about the gloryhounding of painting your kills on your ship.

You must be reading my mind - I just watched the extended "Pegasus" and "Resurrection Ship I" last night. (I had to force myself to stop at 1 a.m., because I KNEW I would've watched until later. SIGH!)

Yes, I noticed that Kara found the bragging really distasteful (and Lee cracked up when she was mocking Narcho about it :D) I think that speaks well for her. (Well, that and the fact that it's probably unlikely there would even be room on the Galactica Vipers for all the Raiders they took down!)

It's late and I am feeling inarticulate, but I love this scene. I love the snark and the fact that they don't paint little raiders on their ships and Kara's great big smile and joking. You can see that she might be going to try at first to get along. HA! And then she doesn't. Followed shortly by the famous "your plan sucks" scene! Excellent stuff!

I dunno...I always saw it as an extension of her "So what? We'll all just die someday anyway, so who cares about how much you won" defense she'd built around herself personally... Painting raiders on a ship seems more like a way of blowing off steam, so pouncing on it instantly seemed more like a hair trigger emotional response.

Not a slant on Kara at all, just relating it with her pessimistic side that Lee always helped her out with...
