Of all the show's foils/mirrors for Kara, Kendra is probably my favorite. Both so different in temperament, but soldiers to the core. And both carrying their own heavy load of guilt. Kendra sacrifices herself, which saves Kara's life. That's something that had to affect her pretty heavily because, even though it wasn't Kendra's sole or even primary motivator, who puts themself on the line for Kara Thrace? I wish the show had referenced Kendra again in the future at some point.

Agreed. And Cain, since Kara's relationship with Cain was so important to her, I wish she had mentioned it later on.

I adore Razor for the most part, particularly because of Kendra. I think she's a wonderful counterpoint to Kara in many ways and one who arrived at her toughness in a different way than Kara did. One of my favorite Kara scenes of all times is when she and Kendra bump into each other in the kitchen. There's so much power and tension and you can see it radiating off of these two characters who are both somewhat ill-equipped to deal with what life has thrown at them (not that anyone wouldn't be overwhelmed under the circumstances). I love Kendra's understated manner and her smile is incredibly rare, she turns inward where Kara turns outward in many ways, although both women portray the same steely don't-frak-with-me attitude. I would love to see more "friends" fic between these two, although some have argued that they would never be friends. I think there is a lot of potential for friendship between them and that we get a glimpse of it in the raptor scene where Kara talks about her mother and Kendra talks about the razor. Great great stuff. <3

I thought Kendra was a brilliant character. I wish they had gone onto a lot more of her relationship with Kara. They might have been able to become friends more as time went on.

Aww! That's a sweet idea. But it's like since they never mentioned Kendra before Razor, they had to never mention her again. It is odd.

I loved Kendra and the Kara/Kendra interaction. She actually felt like an equal to Kara whereas Kat, Racetrack, etc. always seemed to just be following in Kara's shadow. I was just rewatching the Pegasus arc today and wishing Kendra had been part of it. But then that's bsg for us...if we had a dollar for all our unfulfilled wishes, we'd be rich and really could fangirl full time.

Yes yes yes, me too! Honestly, I didn't find Kendra all that engaging or interesting in and of herself, but her interactions with Kara were when she really became human, for me. Fascinating stuff, watching their relationship grow, and I wish we could have gotten so much more out of it.

Totally agree with greenkitty above that she was one of Kara's few equals in the military, and that in and of itself would've made them all kinds of awesome together on the same screen.

I'm also a fan of Kendra and I wish she had been able to be part of the show for a longer stretch. I like her intelligence and courage, I like how completely she has locked herself down in order to deal with her own guilt and fear. I give a lot of credit to the actress, who I felt brought both charisma and restraint to the role. My husband once said he thought it was interesting that Kara expressed so much with just her face and expressions, whereas Kendra is almost impossible to read. They are good contrasts to one another. And Kendra provides a nice reflection about what might happen in the military when you take a good quality like loyalty and attach it to the wrong person (Cain).
