I really like the coloring and framing on this shot.

Funny, maybe it's the photographer in me, but I always found the bleached out look a little distracting (same in Eye of Jupiter). I get what they were doing artistically though by trying to make it feel barren, bleak and burnt out, so it's not that big of a deal.

Anyway, I was actually just thinking about this scene yesterday. I feel so much for Kara here. Not only do we viewers feel hopelessly confused but I think I remember reading/seeing somewhere that even Katee herself was frustrated not understanding her character in S4 anymore or where things were going. I can't imagine as an actor feeling that way about your character that you've help shape and mold over the the years.

On top of all that, in the background you have the writers calling themselves clever for creating this brilliant emotional response. "That's how we want you to feel!" But in the end it just feels more like they manipulated everyone from the actors to the fans to get a single emotional reaction, with no big payoff or inkling of an explanation.

Oops sorry, really didn't intend this to come off as a complaint. Despite everything I did find Katee lovely and heartbreaking here as Kara.

Edit: Also, how much do I love how great Katee is with facial expressions. This one small capture of a moment reveals so much heartbreak and confusion.
