Nope, she wasn't. I was always surprised that she wanted her pain meds and needed motivation to leave sickbay. (Love that scene with her and Tigh. "As you were." Those two were fun. :))
Kara's pretty kickass but I guess maybe the injury brought back bad memories of her pyramid injury? I can always fanwank stuff to make sense. :-)
I actually like it from a story PoV that Kara didn't just magically get fixed by a few days in sickbay, our girl might have achieved the impossible and flown an enemy ship home after everyone thought she was dead, but she broke her knee too.
I think she just REALLY dislikes feeling helpless, and being stuck in a hospital bed is pretty helpless in every way (though I love the Galactica sickbay and Doc Cottle).
I imagine that not only did it remind her of her time of her pyramid injury, but I bet that she had some very strong emotional memories tied up with any type of medical treatment/interaction with medical staff from her childhood.
Not only was there the pain of whatever injury was bad enough to need medical care that her mom would've actually have taken her, but she undoubtedly had to lie to the medical staff and, as a result, she would have had a pretty skewed perception of medical personnel. Especially if she believed that no one cared enough to question her injuries further.
